At our Fullwell Mill factory, we don't just buy and sell Fairtrade products, we actually make them too!
In our 15,000 square feet of space in Southwick Industrial Estate, Sunderland, we run a busy dry packing line where we put all our sun dried fruits and nuts into Tropical Wholefoods bags. We also do dry goods packing like rice, sugar, nuts and dried fruits for our near neighbours from Gateshead, Traidcraft. One of our other large clients is the supermarket Sainsburys.
We run a snack bar bakery unit too. Here we make all the Tropical Wholefoods bars. We also devise and
make snack bars for lots of other customers. Some are for sports nutrition, some are more for health and diet. They all taste great of course and our delicious Fairtrade fruits and nuts that we import help to achieve this quality.
Our factory has been certified for many years to British Retail Consortium (BRC) Global Standard at Grade A. We are also Soil Association approved for Organic manufacture and packing as well as being registered Fairtrade licensees. Running our factory to these high standards means we really know about how to do food manufacturing properly.
We think that part of our Fairtrade mission to share this knowledge with all our trading partners overseas.and as widely as possible. In recent years, we have helped design bespoke food factories for Fruits of the Nile in Uganda and for Mountain Fruits in Pakistan. We have also worked on computer systems development at the cocoa co-operative Kuapa Kokoo in Ghana, and in Uganda, the coffee co-operative Gumatindu and the vanilla estate Ndali. In 2012/2013 we are working with Serendipalm, an Organic and Fair Trade Palm Oil processing plant in Ghana
